The Agathokakological Christian

The Battle Within Me**

This morning I woke up spiritual.

I said, Good morning, Lord.

The birds were chirping.

My heart was soft.

I even forgave someone in advance just in case.

By 9:17am, someone annoyed me.

And suddenly, my salvation felt… 😂😂😂

That was when I remembered the word agathokakological.

It means made up of both good and evil.

It comes from Greek roots.

Agathos means good.

Kakos means bad.

Logical means relating to.

If we are honest, that word describes the human heart.

Even the apostle Paul the Apostle admitted it.

For the good that I would I do not but the evil which I would not that I do. This is from the Epistle to the Romans 7:19.

I try to do good but somehow evil keeps subscribing to my channel.

Because how can I pray in tongues at 6am and plan a sarcastic reply by 10am?

How can I post God is good and still rehearse imaginary arguments in the shower?

The truth is, every believer has two internal roommates.

The Holy Spirit 🕊️

And that other voice that says, send the message, do it, do not be weak.

One says be kind.

The other says be correct.

One says let it go.

The other says but remember what she did in 2018?

Agathokakological.

The Christian walk is not pretending the evil side does not exist.

It is choosing daily which side to feed.

But here is the good news.

You are not crazy.

You are not fake.

You are in a war.

But you cannot starve prayer and expect holiness to grow.

You cannot water bitterness and harvest peace.

And every time you choose patience over pettiness, silence over shade, prayer over passive aggression, heaven leans in and says, the good is winning.

You are not evil because you struggle.

You are human.

But you are powerful because you can choose.

And every time you choose obedience, the good grows stronger than the bad.

The heart may be agathokakological, but the Spirit of God is not divided.

Today, when your flesh tries to audition for villain of the year, smile and say

Not today. We are feeding the Spirit.
