Location! Location! Location!

Location! Location! Location!

The one thing we consider when buying a home or a starting a business is location.

If you leave far from the town,a lot of places and amenities will not be readily available. You spend more to get your kids to a good school, you have to travel to get good medical care etc but when you live in town, you have them at your fingertips.

If you start a business and you open a shop in a bad location or in a place that inaccessible. You will hardly make a profit.

Location is everything!
Being at the right place and the right time will prevent you from missing life changing opportunities.

David understood the benefits of being at the right place at the right time. He understood the value of location and so he says in Psalm 16:11 " In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore"

The Psalmist says in Psalm 27:4" One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord, All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord"

Not only does he deeply desire to be in Gods presence but he has decided to seek it and remain there forever i.e on earth and in heaven.

Psalm 84:10 " For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness

Wow! He would rather be a doorkeeper in Gods courts! Just like our popular saying in pidgin "at all at all na him bad pass". To not be in Gods presence at all is truly an awful thing. David knew this but how many of us know this and realize that being in Gods presence should be our Ultimate desire?

Jesus told Martha that she was busy with many things but Mary has chosen the best thing . Mary was sitting at the feet of Jesus! She located herself at Jesus feet!

If the challenges of life are overwhelming . We need to ask ourselves if we
are sitting at Jesus feet?
Have I been in Gods presence?

Lord we ask that you help us to live in your presence. Teach us to hunger to be in your presence through Christ Our Lord. Amen

December! The Revelation Month!

December! The Revelation Month

December to me is a month of gratitude! Not because i have not been grateful to God throughout the year but because December is like the end of another long journey. It is an "Oh I Thank You Lord Month!

December to me is like a race with hurdles and i have crossed all the hurdles and the finish line is right before me.

December is like a mountain climbing experience where i am just a step away from cresting the mountain.

December is the last chapter in a book, the book of revelations in the bible.

December is revelation month! A month where we look back and realize that there were a great deal of suprises this year. Some good, some bad! It is a month that  reveals to us our physical ,mental and spiritual growth. I look back and i realize that i am still standing by Gods grace. Unshaken! Unmoved! Not because the devil did not try but because Our God is Faithful!. Not because i have been faithful, good or deserving but because Our God is too awesome for words. Our God mighty in battle is ever on the throne.

I am thankful because though December is an end, it also ushers in a new begining 2017. That you are reading this means that God has not given up on you! It means God is still saying " Wait, lets give her/him a chance". It means God is reaching out to you! It means His grace still abounds! It means He is willing to rewrite your story! It means He is willing to change our situation.

As we wait upon God to finish all He has begun this year, let us trust and put our hope in Him because the bible says " they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up on wings like eagles, they shall run and no grow weary, they shall walk and shall not faint" Isaiah 40:31

My prayer is that God will teach us to wait upon Him so that we shall run the race of 2017 with strength and grace for His love's sake. Amen

Be Wise As a Serpent!

Be Wise As a Serpent!

“Jesus said also to the people, “When you see a cloud coming up in the west, at once you say that it is going to rain—and it does. And when you feel the south wind blowing, you say that it is going to get hot—and it does. Hypocrites! You can look at the earth and the sky and predict the weather; why, then, don't you know the meaning of this present time? Luke‬ ‭12:54-56‬ ‭GNT‬‬

Clouds show us that rain or a storm is coming and then we begin to prepare. When we do not respond to signs and signals that God shows us. We loose out, things seem as if they have gotten out of control and we begin to wonder about the goodness of God.

It is Gods business to show us signs, it is our business to respond effectively.

Jesus said that there will be signs to show his second coming.““Be careful not to let yourselves become occupied with too much feasting and drinking and with the worries of this life, or that Day may suddenly catch you”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭21:34‬ ‭GNT‬‬

Though Jesus is talking about his second coming, we can relate this to our everyday life. When our hearts are too busy or we choose to ignore signs and signals in our environment then the day will come upon us unawares. When we respond effectively to signs and signals, we succeed in turning things which could have worked out for evil for us to an eternal weight of glory.

A popular African proverb notes that "It takes more wisdom to live in a house than to build a house". This means that it is easy to receive a blessing but it takes more wisdom to keep it. People celebrate their wedding day with all joy and glamour then 6 years later the marriage is nowhere. There is so much joy at the birth of baby but it is also these joyous gifts that may grow up to become theives, prostitutes and a big shame. Maintaining a house is a daily affair, we sweep, clean, patch cracked walls, change dead bulbs, repaint dirty walls and so many other chores.

When a child is still young, God continues through the child to show the parents that the child still needs protection. However, when the child grows and comes of age,God then allows the child to assume responsibility and to decode signs and signals.

God told Adam to keep the garden. We need to keep our own gardens. The garden of our marriages, of our homes, of our spiritual lives, of our physical bodies. When we see any signs of weeds creeping up, let us be wise and tackle them.

When we are alert. We will begin to see that before things show up in our environment, we woukd have tackled them in the spirit with prayer. If we pick up things early and pray for them, God will be in control.

Jesus tells us “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Make Trials a Gift

Make Your Trial A GIft

James 1:2-4

“Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.”

I do not know how to count a trial as a gift but the bible says we should consider trials a sheer gift not just any gift but a SHEER one! Sheer means nothing but.
This means that our trials that should make us weep and ask "why me? is what we are to count as nothing but a gift.

I understand though that even though trials are difficult, it produces results that we may otherwise never see. Gods greatest concern is for the soul of Man. That was why He sent His only son and it is for this same reason that God asks us to consider trials as gifts. You can never get the true taste of a teabag except you steep it in hot water.

Trials make us realize who we really are. You may be suprised what you produce while facing one trial or the other. It makes us realize our helplessness and the need for Gods grace and mercy.

We have all heard people claim " i can never do this", "its Impossible", " i know what i am capable of", " i know myself, i know my weaknesses" " i will never " e.t.c. Well all this is all talk until you pass you through the fire in that area.

‭‭Remember how Peter betrayed Jesus? When he realized what he had done to His Lord and Master, he was shocked at himself. The bible notes;

“Jesus said to Peter, “I tell you that before the rooster crows tonight, you will say three times that you do not know me.” Peter answered, “I will never say that, even if I have to die with you!” And all the other disciples said the same thing.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:34-35‬ ‭GNT‬‬

So you see Peter said He would rather die than deny Jesus! I believe Peter really believed it impossible for him to deny Jesus but He overestimated Himself. However Peter through this understood the need for grace!

We Overestimate ourselves all the time but Trials show us who we really are and help us to see the need for Gods grace.

A Miracle that is Far From A Miracle.

A Miracle that is Far From A Miracle.

‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭24:6-7‬

In 1 Samuel 24,we read that Saul and his men were on a manhunt. They were searching for David to kill him because David was on the run. But something happens that seems like a miracle but really wasn't.

This man that is trying to kill David all of sudden comes to relieve himself at the mouth of the cave where David was hiding with his men. Coincidence? I don't think so!
David's Soldiers saw a perfect opportunity to get rid of their biggest problem Saul but David rejected their advice and said " God forbid I should stretch my hand against Gods anointed".
T
I learn a lot about this situation. As far as the eye could see it was a perfect time, a perfect miracle! It seemed like God dropped Saul right into David's lap. God had already promised David the throne so David could have helped God speed up the process by killing Saul. However, David knew that even though this seemed like an opportunity to get rid of his biggest problem and take the throne by force, he would not be walking in Gods will.

We face such situations everyday but how many times do we put God first and ask if it's Gods will? Sometimes when we seek God in prayer desperately for a need,we start to believe it's okay to do anything to get what we need including sinning!

Imagine that we ask God for a job, a wonderful job interview comes up. We get chosen for the interview out of millions of applicants. In fact it's nothing short of a miracle! A bigger miracle than we have been believing God for! We are so excited! The end of all your financial woes is in sight! Joblessness has come to an end! But then you are asked to do something that is in direct disobedience to Gods will or else you would loose this perfect opportunity.

A lot of us will do the wrong thing because after all God answered your prayers but we forget that God does not need your help to bless you! What seemed like a miracle might actually be a test! I don't believe it's easy to make the right decision but I know that we need to trust God enough to make the right decision.

I pray that God would give all of us the grace and the strength to trust Him in these kinds of situations so that we will always walk in His will for us for His loves sake. Amen

Like Me! Don't Like Me!

Like Me! Don't Like Me!

I need you to answer this question. Do you want every single person in the world to love you? Like every man, woman , child even animals just see you and love you!

I'm sure everyone wants that but I am sorry to disappoint you but ITS IMPOSSIBLE! Like ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE!
We cannot please everyone but that doesn't matter but We can please God and that is where the true value is! We can never be blessed and fulfilled by being the most likable person on earth but We can be immensely blessed both on earth and in heaven by God!

The world tries to sell us that we need fame. We crave likes on our Instagram page, Facebook and all kinds of social media. We put up pictures and videos and wait for people to like. The more likes we get the more joyous we are! We seek approval from the world. We want the world to love us!. We keep wondering what people think about our hair, our car, our life, our kids!. Set yourself free!it really doesn't matter. Stop Wasting your Imagination!

The truth is, as Christians we shouldn't allow the world set our standards! We are created to be the light of the World and the salt of the earth!
How can we light up a world that we are practically begging to like us? It's not possible.

The more fixated we are on getting people to like us, the more deviated from our destinies we will be. We cannot be whatever God wants us to be because we are more focused on living for the approval of people instead of the approval of God.

Saul lost his kingship because he sought the approval of his people instead of the approval of God. The bible says in Hebrew 11:24
"By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible."

Stop Looking for people to like you! And focus on pleasing God!

I AM MYSTERIOUS!

I AM MYSTERIOUS!

I am mysterious! I am a Terrorist! I eat flesh and drink blood! I am an Overcomer!

Everything about the Kingdom of God is mysterious. Our Angels who are assigned to minister to us cannot be seen but they are there. We feed on the flesh and blood of our Master Jesus when we take communion. We as Christians are drinkers of the blood and eaters of the precious blood and body of Christ. We eat spiritual food that is greater than any spiritual food even that of witches and wizards.

1 Tim3:16: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Satan has told us lies to make us afraid. He tries to get us to believe he is a mystery that he knows everything about us. That is not true!.   We are the mysterious beings. The bible says in 1 Corinthians 2:16
"Who can know the LORD's thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?" But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ".
The devil cannot know our mind or thoughts because we have the mind of Christ. The devil does not know what we are capable of.

Remember that the bible says in 1 Cor 2:8  "which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn't have crucified the Lord of glory"

If Satan had known what he was doing when he crucified the Lord of glory, he would have never done it. He thought the crucifixion was his greatest victory, but it was actually his ultimate defeat.

God says in Isaiah 43:1

1Now, this is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid, because I have reclaimed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.
2When you go through the sea, I am with you. When you go through rivers, they will not sweep you away. When you walk through fire, you will not be burned, and the flames will not harm you.
3I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. Egypt is the ransom I exchanged for you. Sudan and Seba are the price I paid for you.
4Since you are precious to me, you are honored and I love you. I will exchange others for you. Nations will be the price I pay for your life.

Now if God has claimed you as His!  He paid the price for us. So Who should terrorize who? WE ARE MYSTERIOUS BEINGS IN CHRIST!

Write Your Challenge a Sympathy Letter!

Write Your Challenge a Sympathy Letter!

Imagine if Nigeria were to go into battle with Russia or China. We do not need a soothsayer to tell us that  Nigeria will be defeated. Nigeria lacks the military might that Russia and China have. I do not believe that Nigeria can lay claim to even a single nuclear warhead. To fight Boko Haram ( a Nigerian rebel force), we need international assistance. This tells us that in a war situation, Nigeria will not stand the hope of a chance.

Then imagine that as weak as Nigeria is, Japan, Germany or the United States comes out and declares that they are solidly behind Nigeria. All of a sudden,Nigeria's victory is almost assured because we are now being backed by Nation with greater military might. Our hope of victory changes, we even begin to brag because we have great confidence in the nation backing us. Russia then begins to fear that they might be defeated and might begin to regret. The whole situation changes.

Then imagine further that Nigeria is at war with the United States. In fact in this situation,we would focus on choosing a great tombstone, our defeat so sure.

Then imagine that God then stands behind Nigeria against the United States. The same God who created heaven and earth. We would write United States a sympathy letter. We will tell them sorry because as Christians we know that according to Hebrews10:13
"It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God!

As Christians, Let us remind ourselves about who is behind us, about who goes before us, about our God who parted the Red Sea!

Now let's get back to the challenge and battle you are facing! Write that challenge a sympathy letter!
God is begin you! The battle is not yours but the Lords.

Sinking Sand or Solid Rock

There were once two men, and each needed to build a house.
The first man was foolish, and chose to build on sandy soil where it was easy to access and easy to dig the foundations. In a few short weeks he was almost finished.
The second man was wise, and chose to build his house on a rocky hill, where it was very hard to access and to dig the foundation. He spent many months building his house.
As time passed a huge storm broke upon the houses of these men. After much rain, a flood swept through the valley and the man's house that was built on the sand was swept away. But the second man who had built on the rocky hill was safe. No matter how hard it rained or how fierce the floods were his house remained solid and immovable.
Let's ask ourselves the question. What's the foundation of our life? Are we like the foolish man, are our lives built on sand?
The story above is from the Matthew 7:24-27 where the Bible says:
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Jesus said that whoever heard his words and obeyed Him, would be like a wise man who built on a rock. And that house could never be torn down!!! It could never be moved!
But if we only hear the wonderful words of Jesus and yet still go our own way and don't do what He says, then we are like a foolish person, who builds his house on the sand! Just think about that, who would want to build a house on a sand-dune? It sounds very foolish doesn't it?
Perhaps the foolish man thought he was safe? His house was standing to start with and it was cosy and warm inside, everything was going just fine. But when the floods came he had no hope! His house fell flat, and great was the fall of it.
What about our lives? When Satan brings temptations and trials to us it may feel like we are being battered by a flood! The Bible refers to the enemy coming in like a flood:
Isaiah 59:19...when the enemy shall come in like a flood...
And perhaps you've found yourself standing on sand before. And when the flood of temptation or trial comes, you fall flat like that foolish man. But! Don't be discouraged, lets choose to be like the wise man. Who listens to what Jesus tells us in the Bible and does what he says!
And when we listen and obey Jesus what rock are we building our lives on?
Psalms 18:2 The LORD [is] my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust

1. Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Jesus is our Rock! He is the firm foundation that we can build our lives upon. And if we obey Jesus, and everything He tells us in his word, the Bible, we have the assurance that no matter what flood beats upon us, no matter how fierce the storms of this life may get we will never fall, we will never be moved.
God wants us to build securely upon the eternal Rock, the word of God. We have been only hearers long enough. Let us now put the important lessons of Christ into practise. He who is a hearer and not a doer of the word, Christ compares to the man who built his house upon the sand. It needs only the storm of temptation to break upon such, and the foundation they supposed so secure is swept away. How great is the loss to these souls! They might have had eternal life--a life that measures with the life of God--had they built upon the firm foundation.

How Can We Be Truly Content

Why is it that many people in this world today, live their entire lives searching for something..... yet never finding it? What is it that they are searching for?
It is Contentment. Many people live their entire lives trying to find contentment, yet they have a miserable existence. Why is this so?
Lets see what the Bible says.......
1 Timothy 6:4-5
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
Here the Bible is describing ungodly people, who are proud etc... but notice in verse 5:
1 Timothy 6:5
"supposing that gain is godliness"
So who is the God in the lives of these people? ........Gain has become their God, they are supposing that gain is Godliness. They are living their lives striving for gain and worldy riches and this becomes as a god in their lives.
Lets read the next verse:
1 Timothy 6:6
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
Where is the true contentment and great gain? It is not in riches of this earth, but the true Godliness which is in Jesus (verse three) So Whilst striving for contentment and gain these ungodly people have missed the true gain! they have missed the great gain and contentment which is in Christ Jesus. They have worked, worked, worked all their lives striving to find contentment in the riches of this world.
1 Timothy 6:7
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
We were birthed into this world with nothing, and when we die, and go to heaven at Christ's second coming none of our worldly goods will come with us! Tragically, this is why those who strive for riches in this earth canot be happy in heaven, because their expensive car, their luxurious house etc, won't be there..........
1 Timothy 6:8
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
Let us then be content with the food and clothing that Jesus supplies to us.
1 Timothy 6:9-10
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Truly those that strive for riches and worldly gain in this earth end up "piercing themselves through with many sorrows" somtimes by a family breakup, or poor health, in the end these people live a miserable life , and it is all because of their love of money. Truly there is no goodness or content in the ways of this world.
So is it worth striving in this world for riches? Isn't the way of Jesus much better?
1 Timothy 6:11-12
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
This is what Jesus wants for us, he longs to give all good things to us, and he wants to show to us that the ways of this world are not His ways. Do you want to fight the good fight of faith today? Then don't set your affections on things of this world but lay hold on eternal life in Jesus!
1 Timothy 6:14-15
That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
What an amazing description of Jesus! The one who has all power and imortal life! The king above all kings and the Lord above all lords!
How can we have the assurance, the certainty of contentment in this life?
Hebrews 13:5-6
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
If Jesus has promised that he will always be with us, if the all powerful one, the King above all kings and the Lord above all lords will never forsake us, will there ever be a time in your life when you are not content? When Jesus is with us. then we can boldy say, that we will not fear what any man can do to us, becasue we have the assurance of Jesus with us, who is much more powerful than any earthly human!
So contentment only comes through Jesus. Not through striving in this world for riches.
If you want true contentment, just ask Jesus to come into your heart, and as long as you don't forsake Him, He has promised never to forsake you.
The Bible says
Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
If you ask Jesus to come into your heart, if you seek for him, and do what he asks (knock) He has promised that you will always be content.
What amazing love Jesus has towards us!!
